To be eligible for car leasing in Doha, the driver should hold a valid or recognized driving license approved by the Qatar Traffic Department to drive any category of vehicles. UCR will not be responsible for any consequences due to non-compliance with the traffic rules regarding driving license.

You need four things: a driving licence recognised by the Qatar Traffic Department, your passport or Qatar ID, your entry visa if you are visiting, and a credit card for the security deposit. Visitors should carry an International Driving Permit alongside their home licence. Residents can use a Qatar driving licence and Qatar ID. United Car Rentals also accepts the deposit in cash.

Yes, if you are visiting Qatar as a tourist. Bring an International Driving Permit together with your home country licence. GCC licence holders and Qatar residents holding a Qatar driving licence do not need one. Licence eligibility is checked against the vehicle category before the car is released, so send a photo of your licence when booking.

The minimum age to rent a car in Qatar with United Car Rentals is 21 years. Drivers aged 21–24 may have restrictions depending on the vehicle category and rental terms. Premium, luxury SUV and passenger van categories may require a higher minimum age of 25 years.

United Car Rentals requires a refundable security deposit of QR 3,000. It is either blocked on a credit card or paid in cash, renewed every 30 days for ongoing rentals, and released within 14 to 21 days after the vehicle is returned and inspected.

Yes. If you do not have a credit card, the QR 3,000 security deposit can be paid in cash instead of being blocked on a card. The rest of the booking process is unchanged, and the cash deposit is refunded within 14 to 21 days after the vehicle is returned.

Yes. Comprehensive insurance is included in the rental rate at United Car Rentals, along with servicing, maintenance and accident repairs. Personal belongings and traffic fines are not covered.

Yes. Tourists can rent a car in Qatar with a valid home country driving licence, an International Driving Permit, a passport and entry visa, and a credit card or cash for the security deposit. Renting is generally the practical way to reach places outside Doha such as Al Khor, Zekreet and the inland sea, where public transport is limited.

Yes. United Car Rentals can have a vehicle ready at Hamad International Airport so you can drive out after landing. Share your flight number and arrival time when booking and confirm at least 24 hours in advance. If your flight is delayed, call +974 4450 3333 and the handover time is adjusted.

United Car Rentals rents from a minimum of one week; daily hire is not offered. From one week you can extend weekly, monthly or annually. For six months or longer, a long-term lease agreement usually works out cheaper than repeated rentals.

United Car Rentals includes unlimited mileage as standard, so there is no per-kilometre charge for driving from Doha to Al Khor, Mesaieed, Zekreet or anywhere else in Qatar. Servicing, maintenance and accident repairs are also included, with a replacement vehicle supplied while yours is off the road.

Traffic fines remain the responsibility of the driver. Fines issued to United Car Rentals vehicles are traced to the rental contract and charged to the renter, with an administration fee per fine. Radar speed cameras are widespread across Qatar, and fines usually appear on the Ministry of Interior system within [TIMEFRAME].

Cross-border travel requires written authorisation from United Car Rentals in advance, along with additional insurance covering the destination country. Requests should be made at least before travel. Not all vehicle categories are eligible.

Yes. United Car Rentals supports separate pickup and drop-off points, so you can collect in Doha and return the vehicle at another agreed location in Qatar. Availability depends on the locations and dates, so the drop-off point must be agreed at the time of booking rather than at handover.
