Frequently Asked Questions
To lease a car in Qatar for long-term with UCR, you need the following:
- Valid Qatari Driving License and QID copy (front & back)
- User of the vehicle should be above 22 years.
- Local address, Email ID and contact number in Qatar
For a seamless experience, we ensure all our vehicles are covered for on road insurance only. No off-road insurance.
Fully Comprehensive insurance, maximum deductible of 1000 QR for own fault accidents (including unknown and no 3rd party involved).
Premature Termination
For 6‑month and 10‑month agreements, there is no early termination option. Should a contract end prematurely, the rates will be recalculated based on the pre-agreed structure from the start date, and any difference must be settled. This ensures fairness and transparency for all long‑term clients using our monthly car rental plans.
Maintenance
Your rental rate includes full service, maintenance, comprehensive insurance and, when required, a replacement vehicle. Whenever possible, the replacement will match the class of your original car. New vehicles receive their first service at 1,000 km and then every 8,000 km thereafter. If at any point you feel the vehicle is not performing as expected, you should notify us immediately rather than wait for the scheduled service.
The next service mileage is clearly displayed on the windscreen for your convenience. Routine checks such as battery acid levels (when applicable), coolant, engine oil and tyre pressure between the 8,000‑km intervals remain the user’s responsibility. Tyre punctures or damage caused by punctures must be repaired or replaced by the user.
Any damage resulting from negligence will be charged accordingly. However, tyres and wiper blades worn through normal use will be replaced at no additional cost. A replacement vehicle will only be issued upon submission of a valid police report (Repair Order and Insurance Claim Report). The renter must return the vehicle in its original condition, with all accessories, at the agreed time and location during working hours (Saturday to Thursday, 08:00 AM to 05:30 PM). The renter may not repair or modify the vehicle without informing UCR.
Our long‑term clients using benefit from the same high standards of maintenance and support, ensuring peace of mind throughout the rental period.
24/7 Roadside Assistance
United Car Rentals Co. W.L.L, in partnership with AAA Middle East, provides round‑the‑clock roadside assistance for all vehicles in our fleet. This includes flat‑tyre support, battery boosting, key‑lock assistance, towing services and on‑site battery replacement.
Insurance
All vehicles are comprehensively insured, including personal accident benefits for drivers and passengers. In the event of an accident, the user must obtain a valid police report suitable for insurance claims.
The lessee will be liable for a deductible of QAR 1,000 (or QAR 2,500 if the driver is under 22) in the following cases:
- When the police report identifies the renter as at fault
- In hit‑and‑run incidents or cases where the third party cannot be identified
If the police report is unsuitable for insurance claims, all related costs — police, insurance and repairs — must be covered by the individual. In cases of negligence, such as driving through water, dune bashing or beach driving, where insurance claims are rejected, the full repair cost becomes the responsibility of the lessee. This applies equally across all car rental agreements.
Traffic Fines
In line with Qatar’s traffic regulations, the renter acknowledges that UCR must immediately settle any traffic violations incurred during the rental period.
1. Fines Paid by UCR: UCR will settle the fine and provide the renter with official receipts. The renter agrees to reimburse UCR within 24 hours of receiving the notification.
2. Violations Involving Points: For violations that incur points, the renter must settle the fine personally within 24 hours of its appearance on the Ministry of Interior’s Traffic Violations page. UCR holds no responsibility for these fines.
These policies apply uniformly across all monthly car rental contracts.
Cost Escalation
Any new taxes, levies, VAT, road permits or increases imposed by the government or relevant authorities after the contract date will be charged to the lessee as they become applicable. All fees mentioned in this agreement exclude VAT or similar taxes.
This ensures clarity and fairness across all long‑term agreements.
For long-term car rentals with UCR, there’s no bank loan required.
